Sponsored Settlement System (The "Fiat Bridge")

Purpose: Provide instant liquidity to groups while mitigating fiat settlement risk (130-day chargeback windows) through a leveraged yield incentive for Sponsors.

Core Mechanics

1. The Actors

  • Contributor: Pays Fiat ($500). Wants Membership.
  • Group: Needs Funds NOW. Cannot wait 130 days.
  • Sponsor: Has Crypto ($500). Wants Yield.
  • Platform: Has Capital ($5,000). Wants Fees & Ecosystem Growth.

2. The Transaction Flow

  1. Contribution: User pays $500 Fiat.
    • Status: Locked in Platform Escrow (Interest-Bearing).
    • Asset: User receives "Group Certificate" (Membership).
  2. Sponsorship: Sponsor deposits $500 Crypto (USDC).
    • Status: Sent IMMEDIATELY to the Group's Treasury.
    • Result: Group has spendable funds today.
  3. Leverage Injection: Platform deposits $5,000 Capital.
    • Status: Locked in Platform Escrow (Interest-Bearing).
    • Role: "Yield Amplifier" for the Sponsor.

3. The 130-Day Hold (Yield Farming)

Total Capital in Escrow: $5,500 ($500 Fiat + $5,000 Platform).

  • Rate: 1.5% APY (Example).
  • Total Interest: ~$85.63 over 130 days.

4. Settlement (Day 130)

  1. Fiat Clears: Chargeback window closes.
  2. Distribution:
    • Sponsor: Receives $500 Principal (from Fiat) + $85.63 Interest.
      • Effective Yield: ~17% (on their $500 risk).
    • Platform: Receives $5,000 Principal + 2% Fee ($110, charged to Group/System).
    • Group: Keeps the original $500 Crypto (already spent).

Risk Management

Chargeback Protection

  • Scenario: Contributor initiates chargeback on Day 60.
  • Impact:
    1. Sponsor Loss: Absorbs the loss (Risk of yielding 17%).
    2. Insurance Pool: Platform covers first 20% of claims.
    3. DAO Vote: Can allocate emergency funds.
  • Social Mitigation: WebRTC Trust Rooms.
    • Requirement for 4-way video call (Contributor, Sponsor, Group, Platform rep) to establish human trust before large amounts clear.

Technical Architecture

  • Escrow: Coop Credit Union APIs (Fiat) + On-Chain Vaults (Crypto).
  • Database: Ceramic (Immutable contributor records).
  • Signaling: Socket.io over Tailscale (P2P encrypted) for the "Trust Rooms".
  • Hierarchy: Sponsor matching follows the Federation Tree (Sponsoring a "Glazing Guild" also supports the parent "Pottery Circle").
